Quality artisan heritage packaging featuring a unique opening experience!


THE BRIEF

Global gin brand, Thomas Dakin, required a completely unique premium gift box for its latest gin product. The brand tasked BoxMart with creating a bespoke gift box that reflected its quality artisan heritage and featured a unique opening experience. Thomas Dakin approached BoxMart as a result of its successful construction of a multi-award winning corrugate gift box for Sipsmith. Key requirements of the brief included a premium look and feel, maximum visibility of the bottled product and easy access to the top of the bottle to enhance consumer experience. It also needed to be a robust and durable design, that could be carried safely even with a heavy glass bottle inside while remaining practical and simple to pack.

BOXMART’S ROLE

BoxMart worked closely with Thomas Dakin to find the right material and design for the product, trialling a number of concepts to ensure they created the perfect box that truly reflected the brand’s artisan heritage. From these concepts, Thomas Dakin selected a unique vertical corrugated box that both showcased and protected the glass bottle, as well as providing multiple faces for branding. The ingenious and unique design offers a theatrical experience for consumers, with a cleverly placed magnet allowing the consumer to simply lift open the top of the box without tearing the material, effortlessly unveiling the product inside.

PRODUCTION DETAILS

Coated corrugate board was specially produced for this project, providing superb strength and rigidity. BoxMart used its constructional expertise when working with the strong substrate and delivered a box with a premium, artisan appearance.

RESULTS

The Thomas Dakin gift box has created excellent shelf impact whilst positively disrupting a traditional category. The client said that the gift box has added huge value to its brand.
