BoxMart scores a Hat Trick - 2020 UK Packaging Awards
In a year where consumer behaviour shifted heavily to online sales and home delivery, having attention grabbing packaging has become more important than ever.
We were therefore delighted to win a prestigious UK Packaging Award in the Corrugated: Online Retail and Consumer Goods category, plus two Highly Commended accolades.
Our Tiny Rebel Eighth Birthday Blending Pack was recognised as best in class, with our Beer Hawk 12 Beer Gift Crate coming a close second in the same category, and our Bramley Cottage dolls house style box being awarded Highly Commended in the Limited Edition of The Year award.
Described as ‘artists’ by the judges, for the winning pack we worked closely with our client, Tiny Rebel, to deliver their limited edition 8th Birthday Blending Pack. Highlighting the brand’s distinctive USP of unusual flavour combinations, the pack opens to reveal four integrated compartments holding pairs of beers designed to be mixed and enjoyed together, as well as a limited edition glass which pops forward as the box is opened.
Tiny Rebel challenged us to deliver this innovative pack after being delighted with the previous year’s 7th Birthday Box, which was Highly Commended by the 2019 UK Packaging Awards Panel. Our talented design team took influence from this original pack in terms of external appearance but went back to the drawing board to create a solution which took the consumer experience to the next level. The box went on to become a roaring success, 5,000 packs were presold before release, and the client sold out within just a couple of weeks.
The client commented: “To date it has been our most successful Birthday Pack and we saw a huge uptake in followers and new fans that were blown away by each stage of the packaging and opening experience.”
Managing Director of Boxmart, Joanne Offord said “I am delighted that our expert design team have again been recognised for their ability to create stand out packaging. After being Highly Commended in the previous year for Tiny Rebel’s 7th birthday pack, we were looking forward to rising to the challenge this year and hoping to win the award outright. I am so glad to see that the team’s ingenuity and hard work was recognised!”
