BoxMart Triumphs at Worldstar Awards
Creative packaging supplier, BoxMart, has won an internationally-renowned WorldStar Award for its unique Magic Cube gift box, developed for global beauty retailer LUSH.
Chosen from over 32 entries in the Health & Personal Care category, submitted by packaging companies from around the world, the recyclable gift box wowed judges with its ability to morph into new shapes. Starting life as an oversized cube, the box is folded and re-folded to create different shapes revealing a range of LUSH products.
The company was also commended for its LUSH Reindeer Games box. Designed to delight consumers during the festive season, the box transforms into a board game, Snakes & Ladders, as well as a hoopla game where rings are thrown in a bid to land over Rudolph’s antlers.
Joanne Offord, BoxMart Managing Director, said: “It is absolutely wonderful to have our work recognised on a global stage by the highly-esteemed WorldStar judges.
“We have a true passion for creating exciting and unusual packaging solutions, so relished the challenge posed by these two intricate briefs from long-term client LUSH. The Magic Cube, in particular, was a real feat of structural design, with four pairs of interlocking compartments connected by unique locking tabs creating its never-ending, free-flowing design that holds its shape even when filled with products.
“Consumers clearly loved the Magic Cube as much as we loved creating it, as it was a sell-out in several countries. It’s extremely rewarding to have our design expertise behind this sell-out gift box acknowledged.”
Organised annually by the World Packaging Organisation, the WorldStar Packaging Awards Competition is the pre-eminent international award in packaging. The Awards recognise excellence in packaging design and celebrate the groundbreaking developments made by the sector’s most influential companies, creating a living standard of international packaging excellence from which others may learn.
The Award will be presented to BoxMart at a prestigious Award Ceremony & Dinner on May 15, 2019, hosted by OBALOVÝ INSTITUT SYBA in Prague, Czech Republic.
